Material characterization facility covers the instruments of the material structure characterization, spectroscopy characterization, composition analysis and physical property measurement and materials structure performance simulation, and etc., mainly used in areas such as physics, chemistry, materials, and biomedical frontier research and undergraduate teaching. The facility has nine engineers, 2 laboratory technicians; Chen Lang, head of the facility, is one of the professor of physics department, received Ph.D. degrees in the university of Maryland, the fourth batch of Thousand Youth Talents Plan and Shenzhen "Peacock Plan" Talent.


The facility has more than 30 large instruments, mainly include: X-ray spectrometer chromatograph, mass spectrometry, laser, laser micro Raman spectrometer dynamic light scattering, round two chromatograph, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), electron spin resonance, comprehensive physical property measurement system, magneto-optic superconducting magnet system, multi-function measurement platform, solar simulator, the quantum efficiency tester, physical and chemical adsorption analyzer, thermal analyzer and rheometer, high-performance computing server, etc.
